Tis The Season For All Things Sparkly: Holiday Party Lookbook

Look 1: Red Boots-Zara, Metallic Skirt-zara, Graphic Tee: Iron and Resin (Similar), Blazer:Zara

Look 2: Turtle Neck:Madewell, Dress- Zara(similar), Black Boots: Madewell (Similar), Pink Velvet RibbonM&J Trimmings

I declare metallic skirts badass, and that your first stop for a holiday party is Zara! Can you tell that I am obsessed with all of their pieces right now?! There is a Zara right by my school, which is rather convenient and dangerous. Honestly, sometimes I just stop by there just for inspiration. Mannequin are all on point.

Also don't mind the socks, the red booties, though are sexy as hell they were a pain to break in. Still worth it, I think.

Stuck in a Bikram Yoga Classroom: Puerto Vallarta

 Hi all!

I recently was in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for six days for a bachelorette party, and it was truly an amazing time, other than weather. I am not a fan of hot and humid places, fills like a sauna + a tanning bed, to which on an every day basis I stay away from. Point noted not a fan. However I still managed to get dress everyday (mostly in bikinis,) and did not faint while I was there. The key to survival is to HYDRATE and apply SPF 50+++, not just on vacation but everyday and every season.

Other than the mini lecture/tips for life, here is an outfit I put together for a romantic (sweaty, tired, but mostly sweaty) and very well documented via Snapchat and Instagram stroll to the boardwalk.

Excuse the the bralette hanging out none of the 6 six other girls whom I was with informed me I was flashing bystanders, WHOOPS.

Till Next Time,

How do you Pataloha?

Chambray ShirtPareoPataloha ShirtSunglasses

What do you do on your last evening in New York? Take a pineapple filled photoshoot and barbecue the props afterwards of course! Yeah I got a few weird looks in Chelsea but those were probably from out of towners.

Here is a look featuring my favorite print from Patagonia's Pataloha exclusive collection: Pineapple with Channel Blue. I had picked out this pareo that is extremely versitile and light weight. The fabric for both shirt and pareo is made with 100% organic cotton. To style it, I had tied it into a classic wrap skirt and with a chambray shirt and voila! An easy Summer evening barbecue look, with plenty of breathing room.

This pareo can cater to your needs, just the other week I packed this into my bag to use as a picnic blanket in Prospect Park. Needless to say I'll be packing this into my bag any chance I get this Summer.

Manus X Machina / First Impressions

Karl Lagerfeld (French, born Hamburg, 1938) for House of Chanel (French, founded 1913)
Wedding ensemble, autumn/winter 2005–6 haute couture

Leather Jacket: Rag and Bone, Victorian Blouse: L Train Vintage Flare Jeans: Forever 21 (Found these at Housing Works for $3!)

Today, May 5th 2016; after 6 months of patience the new costume exhibit: Manus X Machina opens to the public at the Met. This particular exhibit, unlike the previous years, primarily focus on hand-sewn and machine-made hybrid pieces: innovative unique haute couture gowns.

Designers such as Karl Lagerfeld from the house of Channel and Raf Simons from house of Dior,  implement 3D printers to print out intricate patterns recreating and mimicking classic silhouettes and fabric texture. The drive to incorporate technology into fashion, does not divert attention that less effort was put into a piece but perhaps becomes an extensive tool in today's fashion.

After seeing the exhibit opening day, it had a surprising slow turn out, but made the experience of viewing these extravagant couture gowns, much more special and left me in awe. When approaching the exhibit there is dramatic background music echoing through the dome ceilings. Yes, dramatic but so is the pearl and diamond adorn Chanel train staged right in the center of the exhibit. It is hard to choose a favorite piece but I was drawn to all of the pale pink gowns instantly. Each gown had held their own, telling their own story, and ugh I just love it all. The only thing that put me off during my walk through the exhibit was the security shouting that the museum was closing. I think they should just be much more professional like libraries and use the intercom- calmly. Other than that, I highly recommend the Manus X Machina exhibit, it truly puts gives the viewer a new perspective to dress making and an appreciation for both technology and designers. Paving a path to accepting technology into the fashion world.

The Manus X Machina exhibit is held at the Metropolitan museum in New York City now through August 15th. Please, if you're in the city visit this brilliant museum, and definitely peek through the exhibit, it might give you a new insight into the art of fashion.

Spring in the City

It seemed like everyone in Manhattan made their way to Central Park yesterday. Who can blame us? it was gorgeous out! Yes it was packed like time square year round, however if you walked further into the park away from central park south, it instantly became calmer (very little crying babes).

I finally broke out Alexa Chung's It book after a year of just using it as a prop. It is incredibly relatable for those who grew up in the 90's, I feel like I'm listening to an older sister- an older sister I wouldn't fight with in an imaginary world. Would highly recommend, for those who is as obsessed with Alexa Chung as I am. Can probably be found discounted at UO.

At the end of the day being the hooligan that I am, I ended up with dry leaves in my hair after rolling around in the grass. It is not a good look, stick with flower crowns. Hopefully this spring like weather keeps up.
